Services in the hotel room 55

When and how do I pay for my stay in the hotel?

Payment can be made in the morning, 8:00-11:00, per credit card or cash. If you don’t see anybody around in the breakfast room or wish to pay at a different time, please call the reception with your room phone.

Please note that the credit card number that you used for your booking will not be automatically used for the payment. You need to proceed with the payment during your stay.

Forgot anything important?

Are you missing something important? Your tooth brush? Your shaver? Need to sew a button? More toilet paper? Etc... Have a look in the luggage storage situated in the left corridor when you enter, maybe you can find what you need.... (access codes in your room)

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes you can!

In Vienna, the water from the tap is coming directly from the Rax and Schneeberg mountains and has the quality of spring water. Its quality is permanently monitored and there is no doubt you can drink it.

When can I have breakfast?

Your free Viennese breakfast in self-service can be enjoyed almost any time before 11:00 am in the breakfast room. Just help yourself with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Fresh bread is delivered every morning, butter is in the fridge and marmalade is available on the table.

Can I have a coffee/tea outside of breakfast time?

Of course!

Just help yourself and enjoy it in our „Wiener Kaffeehaus“ or take it to your room (thank you for bringing back your cups J).

How can I use the high-speed internet?

Two options for you (all for free!):

·       If you have a cable, plug directly to the LAN in the socket next to the telephone.

·       Log in one of our W-LAN with the code: room2016

What can I do if I feel too hot or too cold in my room?

You can adjust the temperature with the controls on the wall (one for heating, one for air conditioning). Be patient, it will take time to feel the change, especially when the floor heating is working.

Please note that at night the temperature is slightly lowered to allow for a healthy sleep.

Can I open the windows?

No you can’t, this is for your personal safety and perfect isolation from the street noise.

How do I get fresh air into my room?

Every room is equipped with a very modern ventilation system that permanently blows in fresh filtered air and sucks out used air.

Where can I leave my luggage once I have checked out?

If you wish to enjoy Vienna for a few more hours, use our luggage storage situated on the left corridor when you enter. (access code in your room). Be aware that it is shared with the other clients of the hotel and that we cannot take any responsibility in case of loss, however, any movement around this area will be recorded by the surveillance cameras and can be investigated.

Can I use the safes on the corridor?

Yes of course!

For your personal belongings, please use any available safe following the instructions on the door. For your safety, the surveillance cameras on the corridor will record any movement around this area.

Can I smoke in my room?

No! Thanks!

Can I bring my pets?

Unfortunately not.

Can I bring my children?

Sure! You can book their own room if they are independent enough to stay alone. There are no side beds in room55.

Can I get calls on the telephone in my room?

Where can I buy tickets for public transportation in Vienna?

At any tobacconist, Tabak Trafik, for example next to the room 55 in the Ramperstorffergasse 51 or in any underground station (U-Bahn) at the ticket machine. General information about the public transportation and subway/bus maps in Vienna (Wiener Linien) can be found under www.wienerlinien.at.

Do I need to pay to park my vehicle on the street?

Parking fees apply to double-track motor vehicles stopped or parked in a chargeable short-term parking zone (like the 5th district, around Room 55). Parking fees may be paid, amongst others, by filling in a prepaid parking voucher (“Parkschein”) upon placing the motor vehicle in the parking zone. In the 5th district, you need to fill in a pre-paid parking voucher from Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 22:00. On week-ends, official holidays and at night it is free of charge.

If you need to park your car Monday – Friday, please call the reception with your room phone and ask if the parking card of the hotel is available. With this card you can park for 5 Euros per calendar day. The card can be reserved in advance.

If the hotel card is not available, parking tickets can be purchased at the tobacconists (Tabak Traffik, for example, Ramperstorffergasse 51) or at ticket machines at all Vienna public transport underground stations (e.g. U4 Pilgramgasse). You can go to the ticket office Kärtnerstrasse 51, 1010 Vienna (every day 8:30-19:00). It is next to the opera (U4-Karlsplatz).

Where can I do my shopping?

At a walking distance from the hotel, in the Pilgramgasse and around the Margaretenplatz, you can find a supermarket (Billa), bakeries (Felzl) and other small shops.

There are 2 close pedestrian zones with a huge choice of shops:

ü Kärtnerstrasse / Graben in the 1st District (U4-Karlsplatz, U1-Stephansplatz)

ü Mariahilferstrasse in the 6th District (Bus 14 A or 13A)

Be aware that shops usually close around 6-7 pm Monday-Saturday and are all closed on Sundays, except for some souvenir shops.

On Saturdays, enjoy the flea market at Naschmarkt (U4- Kettenbrückengasse)
